This is a great art gallery, and currently has an excellent exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci drawings. The big thing that mystifies me is that it closes at 2pm. WHY??? It doesn't make sense especially if the city wants too present itself as a city of culture.
An interesting and varied collection of art in an impressive art deco building. The recent temporary exhibition featuring William Stott's large Impressionist painting Le Passeur was very good. Weekday opening hours are a bit restricted, check before visiting.
Small but perfectly formed art gallery. An ever changing exhibition of local and international artist from a variety of time periods and styles. Worth an hour or two of your time, especially since its free (though donating a few quid is a nice idea)
A beautiful place with a large range of exhibitions! I recommend going. They frequently change their displays so work going a few times.
The kids art activity 'Story Sacks' was great. We had access to loads of materials, guidance from a lovely artist and free reign to be creative. The lady running it always goes out of her way to make sure everyone is included and enjoying themselves and the themes of the sessions are well thought out, fun and inspire further creativity after the workshop is over.
