I gave the owner of this shop my Technics amplifier (a sentimental gift from my father) to fix in October 2017. Over the next few months, every time I returned to the shop, the amp was not fixed: he told me that his service man had the amplifier and kept passing the blame. At around the 8 month mark, the owner rings me and informs me that my amp has been fixed - I'm relieved - finally I can play music through my hi-fi system again! Unfortunately, this is not the case. When I arrived to collect my apparently fixed amp, it is in fact some other random amp. He realises this is a mistake and assures me that he will sort it within 4 weeks and if not we can come to some agreement. I gave him another two months to find my lost amp before I returned again. It is now July 2018 and I go to the shop to finalise this nightmare. I was willing to pay 70 (the initial quote) for a fixed amp that was roughly the same quality as my own amp (albeit not my original amp), or I wanted my initial deposit of 30 returned plus compensation. Instead, the owner claims I have in fact already picked up my amp and he believes I am trying to exploit him. I assure him that this is completely ludicrous and he is confused. After 10 months, I had lost my amp and came away with just 10 compensation for the inconvenience. Do not use this repair service, the man cannot be trusted.
Excellent little shop, and good prices too. Seems to have been run by the same guy for at least 15 years.
Stereo came back still with a fault. Engineer had no idea why.
