Great shop. Could spend hours browsing. Cafe gets busy but never struggled to get a seat. Ample parking and quick walk to west quay.
Hadn't been for years! Went to get new mattress and storage unit. Traffic from Bournemouth at 12.30 (definitely don't do it on a Sunday!). Big car park, bit congested and overcrowded. Once in the store really enjoyed the easy to follow arrow on floors taking us through different homestyle sections. Lots of polite helpful staff around. Ordered mattress and storage for next day delivery. Queued at tills for max 5 minutes. Seemed to be lots of stressed people in there complaining about it being busy and kids crying. Not the most relaxing place to be but some fantastic ideas and inspiration to be picked up in there. Good prices, fast delivery next day at 8am and took the old mattress for a small cost of 20. Polite helpful delivery men. Will we go again? For sure, just nice and early in the morning and on a week day.
OK if you like busy places, forest time I've ever been to IKEA and was quite difficult to find what you wanted, I was doing the wardrobes and some bits were not in stock then we eventually did it and got home and some essential parts were damaged! Next time for an item this big I would rather pay for delivery its not worth the hassle!! Great for small bits though! Staff were good when we could find one! Needs to be more signs to tell you which way your going round!!
I love this place. I can just go there to look around for inspiration, have something to eat and go home again. It's the usual Ikea madness of wandering around several floors of enticing Scandinavian loveliness. Don't forget to take bags if you are planning on actually buying stuff. parking is a doddle and if you have a long wheelbase and high roof van like me, there's space on the ground floor to park easily.
Normally excellent, but free parking has changed to just 2 hours and because we'd had to spend time complaining to customer services we were 10 minutes over and had to pay 2.50. No joy at customer services either - a shattered glass shelf couldn't be replaced because we'd bought the unit 2-3 years ago and had no receipt.However, we have since had emails and a helpful phone call which lead us to hope for settlement.
