Arrived on a rainy Saturday 9am at the airport. No covered walkway to the station and flooded pedestrian crossing which is tricky with a case. One paltry ticket machine with huge queue. Went to other platform and not a single member of staff in evidence anywhere, and all 3 ticket windows closed. Used machine and was forced to buy a return ticket to Winchester even tho I only needed a single...There just wasn't an option !! Appalling place and horrid welcome home. Poor tourists!!!
Overall i like this station..But this one assistant made me leave this review, asian man in his 50s dark hair, the moment i realize he will serve me already ruins my day. Everytime id come to the window after the previous client and talk to him hed ignore me. today i said "Hello, are you ready?" and he did it again, youd say hello to him and he just types on his pc for another minute before talking to him, always unpleasant and makes my purchase awkward
Quite cold. And the information boards just say please inquire which defeats the point of having the electronic board. Staff good
Very clean station. Right next to the airport, making Southampton Airport a pretty great place to travel from / to.
It would be fantastic for someone to explain how they think that only ONE single ticket machine is sufficient on the Airport side... BIG queue, people missing their trains, foreigners confused with what to do, no information in any other language to explain the complicated system. ONE TICKET MACHINE ONLY... obviously the senior management never travel by train and have to queue at the only machine available. And what happens if it breaks down? No advantage to buy your tickets online as you still have to go to the machine... the single machine.. to buy your tickets. Crazy, totally crazy.
