Interesting place to visit, dating almost 1000years back and so close to Southampton. Good for visit on free afternoon. Coffee shop on side.
It's a small spot but quite nice to see. Unfortunately part of the view ends up in the commercial port of Southampton but you can. Try avoiding that. There's also a small shop but one side of the bridge
Just discovered how this place has come on leaps and bounds since its refurbishment. There is a picnic area overlooking the nature reserve, nice non-tacky gift shop selling local products and interesting books, and the caf's cheese cake alone is worth a 200 mile round trip, I kid you not, dear fellow cheesecake fan!!! Next time we will come with enough time to actually visit the museum...
Lovely place to come and relax and watch the world go by. Some nice benches near the pub. The opposite side to the hill is the church which rings it's bells frequently this too is nice.
Amazing! Good videos interpreting the place, really interesting seeing the mill working, and lovely volunteers on hand to answer questions. The cafe looks nice, didn't try it this time, and the little gift shop is well stocked with relevant items. A wonderful place to spend an afternoon, bring walking shoes and do the nearby millpond walk too!
