I'm potentially facing court and I really wanted to use this firm because I thought I could get a lot for my money. But where my issue is family related (and we may well go into mediation before it ever reaches court) I called access law and asked if I could speak to someone who could tell me if I was eligible for legal aid.. If you don't ask you don't get. Without asking any questions about the case or my circumstances, The young lady said to "go check" their website as the website "explains it better than she can". Firstly, it's a bit worrying that text on a page can explain eligibility for legal aid better than a legal advisor. Secondly, their website does state they cover Family Law in legal aid. And lastly it would have been more beneficial for her to ask what kind of case it is. But she didn't try to help at all, didn't even asked if I had already been online. I found out from a different firm that I'm not eligible for legal aid in this particular case, but I still need representation so I have now retained that firm for my case. They're charging around 2000 because they think I'll need 7 hours, which is a lot, and I will admit that I think Access Law would have been a lot cheaper, but at least this other firm heard me out. If you can get your foot in the door, I'm sure they're not that bad to work with and lots of people tell me they're value for money, but I never got that opportunity.
We used Access Law for our property purchase and found the whole conyancing team extremely professional. Despite challenging circumstances they were tenacious and informed us of each step of the process. A member of the team was always available to assist us with any enquiry we had.We would highly recommend these solicitors. A and A
All the staff at access law could not do enough for us. We had a lot of stress and tears over 6 months with our sale, but Alan and the team were so kind and helpful all the way through. Would highly recommend access law if you want honest, hard working solicitors who won't fob you off or drag their feet.
We have used this company for various reasons and at all times have received a professional and efficient service from them. Alan Knight dealt with the sale of a property for us which was particularly difficult. He was proactive and handled a difficult situation courteously and professionally. Wendy Hewstone has helped us write our wills, again a difficult situation handled efficiently and has sorted out our land registry documents. I would have no hesitation recommending them.
I used Alan Knight for my purchase and he was very competent and helpful, including pointing out that my road was a private one, whereas it appears my neighbours may not have been advised of that by their own Solicitors, causing them difficulties. He is very diligent and caring.
