Viewed a property marketed by Charles Carr Estate Agents. Made an offer in the middle of the guide price. A week later, had a call about another property to view. Said I hadn't had an answer on my offer with previous. He said vendor hadn't decided. Then received text saying a first time buyer had also made an offer so was up to vendor to decide and they would contact me when confirmed. That was two weeks ago. Have since found out that other offer (same as mine but better situation) had been accepted. If they had contacted me, I would have gone to full asking price but wasn't given the opportunity. Also, they were trying to persuade me that if I marketed mine with them, I would get a better service. Their service is bad, communication is worse!! Avoid!
We were under pressure to relocate to Southampton for a new job. Sophie at Charles Carr was prompt, professional and more importantly patient as we thought through our options and visited our prospective new home several times. Even after our offer was accepted, she continued to stay in touch and facilitate our relocation. Thanks Charles Carr.
Shocked to see positive Google reviews after my experience, however it seems that 1) Most reviews are from friends of the staff & 2) There are other reviews suggesting review are "bought" by employees!!The environment in this office is very uncomfortable, the gentlemen were uninterested when talking to me & the ladies did not look up for their phones for long enough for me to form an opinion!!Needless to say I hope they do not offer any houses I am interested in as I would hate to have to buy through them!!
Great agent, Mostly dealt with Rebekah always kept us up to date with new properties and got us in promptly. Leading to us having an offer accepted on out perfect home. Have recommended highly to friends and family. Laz Doel also helping us find a better rate on our mortgage. Thanks again Charles Carr Team.
"Its very rare that I review anyone or anything. Its even rarer that I review a company that I am not using or employing myself directly. The reason for this review is simple. Without a shadow of a doubt Charles Carr deserve full recognition for a job extremely well done! I'm not a fan of Estate Agents and the Agent I have used for this move has disappointed me and will not be getting a review! All the staff at Charles Carr are extremely friendly and you feel like they actually know their jobs. I've been to properties where clearly the agents knows absolutely nothing about the house they are supposed to be selling which is off putting at best. Where Charles Carr excel though is in their after sales. I dealt mainly with Louise Carr. She was quite simply excellent! In fact our purchase of the house nearly fell through when the chain fell apart,. Louise did everything she could to keep her vendors happy until we sourced another buyer for our property. Louise went above and beyond herself throughout the whole process. She was in contact with my solicitor, my buyers solicitor, my estate agent and of course myself. Her consistent clear, communication was invaluable. As everyone knows moving house is stressful enough and we feel that Louise Carr has striven to get us through it with vigor and pace and quite frankly was the only person I could rely on when my solicitor and my estate agent let me down. If I ever decide to move again I would use Charles Carr in a heartbeat but hopefully after this stressful move it will be quite a wile before I do this all again. James P
