After losing a baby and trying to get a follow up appointment (as per hospital advice) I am 6 weeks post miscarriage and STILL not able to get an appointment. Calling everyday at the times stated only to be cut off when they answer or be told "Sorry there is nothing available" I'm sorry but that just is not acceptable.I very rarely visit the Doctors and use the service sparingly but to always be told there IS NO APPOINTMENTS is something that needs looking at. Considering every time I have been there (be it GP or Midwife) the surgery is empty!! As of today it marks 2 weeks of trying to get an appointment and all they could offer me was an appointment at the end of the month with a Dr I am unfamiliar with. In the 6 years I have been with this surgery I have not ONCE seen my own named GP!? This clearly says there is something wrong with the system. To see a female Dr is like trying to find a diamond in the ruff. Now the Dr's I do see I absolutely love and they have always been wonderful. The appointment system itself and the reception staff are a real issue for this surgery.
I don't often visit doctor. Yesterday as I picked up my son from nursery though, he had a sore eye and had to take him to the doctor and prescribe him eye drops. I walked in without appointment as am emergency, the receptionist(I apologise but due to my stress I forgot your name) , found me immediately an appointment asap as they had cancellation, I was seem by a really nice doctor, explaining to me the situation and reassuring me that was nothing to worry about, giving me my prescription. Thank you for making my already stressful evening, a little bit more stress free. I noticed all bad reviews so I wanted to share my experience, because i think good things need to be heard and appreciated too.
Ive been on this surgery for 3 years now, not a single time Ive needed to see a dictor Ive managed to get an appointment but this time has gone too far... Went yesterday to get a telephone appointment but they dont habe one until January, asked the receptionist for a normal appointment she wouldnt give me one at this time of the day, asked her to leave a note to my doctor she refused. Explaines to her that if the next day they would only give me appointments for this friday or next one I couldnt come as I would be working to what she replied that I will need to take time of work. After me saying I consider that uncapceptable and explaining that I will run out of my medication because of not getting to see a doctor she then tells me to go and buy the medication that Ive just told her Ive been told to stop by my ophtalmologist, thankfully I am a nurse and I know that carrying on with it could damage my eyes servely... but what if I wanst a nurse? What clinical judgement has her to tell what to take or not. After all this conversation I decided to go back the next day and try to get an appointment but my surprise was that there were no appointments left at 8:40h!!! Then she asked me to come back in 35 min to try and get me an appointment in a week time when by then my medication will have run off. Finally after a long discussion she accepted to give a message to the doctor for me and assured me the will call me back to tell me if the doctor has solved the problem or not. Miscalled the phone call as I was at work and when I ring them back no one seems to know anything about it her response is: if its important we will call you back and hang up the phone.I dont understand how they can have such an untrained, unprofessional and rude recepcionist!!!!! Really disapointed and scared that people has to deal with this king of professionals to get to see a doctor.
The receptionists let this surgery down(not All) ! Very passive agressive and condescending especially the one that is relatively new there (big woman short blonde hair..shrek chewing a wasp)! So rude looks and talks to you like something she picked up off the floor! Way above her station! You will not tel me wat meds i can and cant receive and im definitely taking my complainy about her and one other alot higher! If i see shes in there i wont even enter because she gets my back up and it wont be long before she feels the wrath of my sharp tongue! Defintaly shouldnt be in that job as shes clearly not a people person! And the other is another older woman( face like a old rag) been through the ringer walks drgaging her feet trousers slouched and never once have i seen this woman smile! On the other hand theres a lovely long haired young lady and infact all the other ladies are lovely! Get them out of this job as i can see a few agree with me!
The older reception staff including the the reception manager have been rude to me and my husband numerous times. I have left for fate to deal with .them. Otherwise no punishment is good enough for them. Experiencing the same as we have done might be better for them
