Very comfortable bedroom and lounge area. Staff helpful and courteous, good location, overall good value for the money.
I have stayed at this Premier Inn on two occasions. It is competitively priced and the staff are helpful. The location is central and extremely convenient if you are seeing a show at the Mayflower Theatre or are travelling by train. It is also a ten minute walk from West Quay shopping centre and various restaurants and bars. Car parking is available in a public car park a minute walk from the hotel, which charges up until midnight and then begins again at 8am. Do ensure you return to your car before this time (if only to purchase another ticket) as Southampton parking wardens have been known to loiter to begin giving out tickets at 8am on the dot!
The room was clean and so was the bathroom. The whole floor had a strange smell, sort of like wet carpet. I wanted to open a window but they are locked. This is a very typical 3-star hotel, not great, but clean. There is a strip of purple LED lights behind the bed which I have only ever seen at really... special... motels. However, the breakfast included in our room package was amazing. It was a hot breakfast made by the kitchen, with eggs, sausages, the works. It's an OK place with good breakfast.
Beds beds beds! Best mattress, no back ache, good nights sleep. Colours, materials and finish are spot on. And so peaceful and dark. Didn't notice it was morning till gone 10am due to blackout curtains. Breakfast amazing value too. Great value if you book early, 3 weeks in or case. Thank you Premier Inn.
It's a Premier Inn so you know what to expect by and large, but this one is quite new. The room was functional as all Premier Inns but this one is immaculate, the bed firm and the sheets crisp. A small thing is that I would have liked a firmer pillow but hey. We ate before going out and had breakfast the next morning and I must say the food was excellent. The staff were very nice and friendly and there is a fair choice of drinks at the bar. All in all a very positive experience.
